The World Border Organization - BORDERPOL officially registered in Canada as BORDERPOL, is a 21st Century organization dedicated to making international borders smarter and safer. BORDERPOL facilitates co-operation among likeminded border services and related agencies. A registered nonprofit international organization BORDERPOL is built on two functional pillars. The first pillar consists of senior representatives from national border services and agencies, such as border police, customs, immigration services, as well as recognized international organizations.Known as the Borderpol Exploratory Committee (BEXCOM) this body provides strategic policy advice and general oversight of the organizations activities. Procedures for membership in BEXCOM are prescribed by the Constitution of BORDERPOL. The second pillar of BORDERPOL is an open and voluntary body of officials and experts in border security, customs, police and border management matters. Known as the Technical Committee, (TC) it also includes industry researchers, academics and consultants. The TC facilitates broad dialogue on border issues and supports BORDERPOL’s efforts to develop better border systems, policies and technologies. The activities of the membership are managed by its Directors who are guided by the operational and administrative policies of the organization. The official languages of BORDERPOL are English, French and Spanish. English is the operational language within the organization. BORDERPOL is managed by the HQ Secretariat which is located in Ottawa, Canada.
